Zakayo Murauki M'Anampiu — everyone calls him Mumu — farms seven acres in Tangata Ward, Meru County, at a thousand metres.
A farm's first buyer
This is the first harvest from his farm that we have brought to market at all. Being first to market a farm can sometimes be a risk, but we are grateful and honored to purchase Mumu's coffee.
What is in the cup
Ruiru 11 and SL28, wet processed and double washed, dried on raised beds and triple sorted. Blackcurrant like the Rhino Farms lot, but rounder — peanuts, citrus, a little rosemary, and a butteriness the other does not have.
Since his first lot, we have found a sweet spot for this coffee is a darker roast. We continue to work together to find how we can continue to improve this coffee from farm to cup.
