What we collect
When you place an order we collect the information you give us: your name, email address, phone number, and — if you are having coffee shipped — your delivery address. If you start a subscription we also keep your coffee, grind, and delivery preferences.
When you fill in a contact or wholesale form we keep what you wrote and how to reply to you.
We do not collect or store your card details. Payment is taken on Square's own hosted checkout page; your card number never reaches this website.
Who processes it
Square, Inc. — payment processing, order records, and subscription billing.
Amazon Web Services (SES) — sending transactional email such as receipts and order updates.
Twilio Inc. — sending transactional text messages, such as telling you an order is ready for pickup.
DigitalOcean, LLC — hosting this website and its database, and storing product images.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Why we are allowed to
We process order information because it is necessary to perform the contract we have with you — you asked us for coffee and we need your address to send it.
We process contact and wholesale enquiries on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering people who write to us.
We only send marketing email if you have asked for it, and every one of those carries an unsubscribe link.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for accounting and tax purposes. We keep everything else until you ask us to erase it, or until it is obviously of no further use.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email order@luckys.coffee and we will action it.
If you are in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, to have it deleted, and to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information, but you can register that preference anyway on our Do Not Sell page.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you additionally have the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Cookies
This site sets only the cookies it needs to work: one that remembers what is in your basket, and — if you are staff signing in to the admin portal — one that keeps you signed in. Both are essential to the service.
We do not run advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels on this site. If that ever changes, this page will change first and we will ask for your consent.
Do Not Track
We do not alter our practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser, because we do not track you across other websites in the first place.
Changes and complaints
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for legal reasons. The effective date at the top of this page will change when we do.
If you want to complain, contact us first at order@luckys.coffee. If you are not satisfied with our response you may escalate to your local data protection authority.
